Draws for the 3rd edition of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB Tertiary Institutions Foodball Championship tagged Kwara 2019 has been concluded in Ilorin, Kwara State capital with 16 schools participating.
The tournament was established in 2017 for Universities, Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and Innovative and Entrepreneur Institutions.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths and Sports Development in Kwara State, Alh. Shuaib Akanbi who presided over the draw told journalists that JAMB had approved N25million for the tournament which will hold from October 13 to 20, 2019.
The closing ceremony is expected to be performed on Saturday, October 19 by the State Governor, Alh. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq assisted by other dignitaries like the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare; the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.
“This time around, we want to assure all participating institutions, players and officials that all their entitlement shall be fully taken care of while their feeding; accommodation and other logistics would also be accorded top Priority”. The PS stated.
“Also for the winning prizes: the first prize will be N1,000,000.00; the second prize N750,000.00 while the third prize will be N500,000.00”. Alh. Akanbi concluded.
16 schools are participating in this edition and they have been warned against the consequences of using mercenaries.
